-Sam will send out an e-mail telling people about it and will also put a link to it on the Hawkins blog, and website.
-Sam will post a link to the Messing About article.
Ellen will post the defining characteristics of Hawkins Centers of Learning as well as the writing that Sue and she did for a possible brochure.
-Mary will add photos of teachers working in the Hawkins Room at Boulder Journey School and start a list of books and articles (discussed at the gathering.).
-Lauren will send updates to the group: We hope this will help to keep up people’s interest in visiting and adding to the page.
-Alison will add continual updates relating to the teacher education program at Boulder Journey School.
-Sam will begin thinking about a Hawkins Centers logo and he will post to the group that we are interested in any ideas that people might have about a logo.
-We will ask Barry if he would like to put something about balance up.
-Each of us will respond to Laura’s post, and we will each aim to respond to a post or add something new once a week.
-Creation of new topics for the discussion board

-Ellen will be concentrating on this.

The Arc of the moral Universe

07-Pride-In-The-Name-Of-Love.mp3

“Dr King once said that ‘The Arc of the Moral Universe is long but it bends toward justice’… it bends toward justice. But here’s the thing- it does not bend on its own. It bends because each one of us in our own ways, put our hand on that arc and we bend it in the direction of justice because we organize and we mobilize…” I am taking this from a piece of an Obama speech that is used on The CD “YES WE CAN: Voices of Grassroots Movement” It can be heard at the end of the song “Pride in the Name of Love” by John Legend.

Welcome to the Official HCoL Blog!

Hello Everyone,

I hope your journey so far has been a pleasant one. I am here to help you with any of your blogging questions. You can send me emails at samhall876@gmail.com or post a comment and I will answer it as soon as I am able.  The WordPress site has a tutorial at: http://codex.wordpress.org/New_To_WordPress_-_Where_to_Start (you can skip the install and setup sections) but I know the interface well and can most likely assist you.

I set the registration up to allow everyone to comment and to create new posts.  If we decide it is necessary, we can change the permissions so someone can only comment on an existing post or not comment at all but can only read the blog.

I am very excited to get this blog up and running, and I hope you share my enthusiasm!

Best,
Sam
