Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We are delighted to share information about Lesley University’s Reggio Inspired Conference Pre-Institute Day…
“Messing About in Science -Making Visible the Thinking and Ideas of David and Frances Hawkins: Supporting Continued Action in Teaching and Learning”
This is truly a dream come true. This is a day filled with panel presentations, workshops, and dialogue; a day to celebrate first steps towards a traveling exhibit, an enhanced and expanded website, and the publication of Betty Kellogg’s wonderful book featuring photos and reflections on the Mountain View Center for Environmental Education.
Please forward the attached brochure to colleagues and friends. We hope to see you in Cambridge in April.

Took me a while to sign up but I’m happy to find this feature–thanks Sam! I look forward to tracking member input. A word on Betty’s book–as many of you know, it is progressing well. Her son Tom, with his tech skills, has put in many hours to help her assemble photos, text and ongoing edits. I am honored to give input on it now and then. I currently have the drafts and am poring over them. Her work is so important and will delight Hawkins followers and help form content for the documentary. A big thank you to Ellen also for her work on behalf of the Hawkins these past years.

I used a plugin called PhotoXhibit (which uses another plugin called Thichbox) for this post. Clicking on an image should bring up a Java window. You can either hit esacape or click on the photo to make it disappear, or click on the left or right side of the window to go to the previous or next photo. If anyone would like a tutorial on how to use this powerful plugin let me know, and I can type something up!
Oh, I also used a tool called more, which is why you won’t see any images unless you click the more link below or the title of the post. This brings you to the single post page, which is also where you go to comment on a post. This is a nice tool if you have a lot of photos or video or any files that are large and you don’t want to make visitors wait for them load every time they login. Again, I would be happy to walk anyone through how to add this to a post. (more…)
